We aim to foster a love of learning and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
So far this term, our students have embarked on a series of exciting field trips that have taken them from the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast to the sandy shores of Merthyr Mawr. Our field trips offer a unique opportunity for students to explore the world around them and apply their knowledge in real-world settings.
From Coastal Cliffs to Sandy Shores
Our recent field trips took students on unforgettable adventures to the Jurassic Coast and Merthyr Mawr. Year 11 Geographers delved into the fascinating world of coastal processes, studying the dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches that have shaped this iconic landscape. Meanwhile, Year 12 Geographers and Biologists investigated the intricate process of sand dune succession, gaining valuable insights into the delicate balance of coastal ecosystems.
One of the most distinctive aspects of our field trips is the opportunity to learn in unique and inspiring environments. Whether it's exploring the rugged cliffs of the Jurassic Coast or studying sand dunes in an open-air beach classroom, our students are immersed in the natural world and can directly observe the concepts they're learning about.
Our field trips are carefully designed to complement our academic curriculum, providing students with hands-on experience that reinforces their classroom learning. By combining academic rigour with adventure, we aim to foster a love of learning and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
