School Life at Rendcomb College
Daily Life at Rendcomb College is one of excitement, challenge, academic excellence and adventure, lived through our values.
Regular assemblies, Chapel services, inspirational talks and a diverse trips programme provide pupils with a comprehensive and wide-ranging understanding of morality and the world around them, preparing them for life after school.
Senior Boarding School pupils attend an assembly with a moral, spiritual or social focus. Staff and pupils play an important role in these assemblies with pupil achievements also celebrated each week.
Co-curricular
With over 100 co-curricular activities on offer, there really is something for everyone. Whether you are a budding Oxbridge candidate, medical student or vet; or maybe the arts, music and drama are more your thing, pupils have the opportunity to try many different activities throughout their time at Rendcomb College.
Love sport? With equestrian, football, rowing, golf, mountain biking and plenty more all on offer there is lots to do. Not sporty, but love working as a team? Debating club, Dungeons & Dragons or one of the schools many committees may be the thing for you. We encourage all pupils to give something new a try. It may ignite new passions or open doors to future careers.
Spiritual Life
Chapel plays a central role in the life of Rendcomb College. Our services are held in the historic St. Peter's Church, a Grade II listed building located on campus. Led by our School Chaplain, Marie Hobbs, these services offer a meaningful and reflective experience for our students.
Throughout the year, we celebrate significant festivals like Harvest, Remembrance Sunday, Advent, and Mothering Sunday, inviting families to join us.
A highlight of the year is the Carol Service which is held at Cirencester Parish Church with the whole school in attendance.
Independent Learning Project
Pupils in Year 7, 8 and 9 undertake an Independent Learning Project in the Michaelmas and Lent Terms in addition to their timetabled subject lessons. Pupils spend between 2 and 10 hours on their Project during tutor periods, during prep time once other prep is completed and at home. Pupils are encouraged to think broadly and research a topic that interests them culminating in a presentation to their tutor group. Pupils gain transferable skills such as public speaking, independent research and confidence.
Topics may include:
- The life and times of an historical figure
- Olympic sports through the ages
- A study of a particular composer
- A catalogue of nature and the surrounding environment
- How an invention has changed the world

During the school day the on-duty Nurse, known as Sister, is available to Day pupils for emergency care and to Boarders for all aspects of their health care both day and night.
